Cantus

Cantus -- What is that?! Let me explain. Once per month, my school (Maastricht University) hosts an event called Cantus on a Friday night. Basically, you dress up to the appropriate theme (ours was Hawaiian), bike (because that's the only form of transportation the Dutch believe in) to the student union building, and then listen to the Praesidium tell you what to do: sing a song, then drink a beer, and repeat 15 times. Yes, I said *15* times! And keep in mind that this is a school function!

The rules are below as well as the list of songs we sang. This event was so much fun, but we were all SO drunk (understandably so after all those beers!). Oh, and if you're not following the rules -- AKA drinking when you're told to -- they call you up to the front of the group where you have to drink MORE!

I will never get over the fact that universities in Europe can host these kinds of events which include so much drinking! We went to the Cantus for the month of March, but we were told at the February Cantus they sent 7 students to "detox" .... don't worry, none of my friends or I were thaaaat drunk by the end of the night ;)
